0-1 Rudy 2'
Getafe's reserves stay in the promotion hunt with a narrow away win...
... has the stage been set for a first team victory on Monday evening?
Getafe B pulled off a 1-0 win over their Real Madrid counterparts on Sunday afternoon in what Azules fans will hope was a dress-rehearsal for the match between the first teams on Monday night.
21-year-old midfielder Rudy scored his fourth league goal in five starts after just two minutes, and this proved to be the only strike of the game.
Thus Geta B remain in fifth place, one point and spot off the promotion play-off zone, while Castilla are a distant tenth.
Getafe B entered the Segunda B for the first time this season after winning their promotion play-off against Portugalete back in June.

Getafe 'B' 1-1 Leganés
0-1 Tonino 36'
1-1 Adrián Sardinero 55'
Geta's greatest rivals have been reduced to playing our reserves in the Segunda B. While both first teams used to attract bumper crowds against each other in the Segunda, these days 2,500 showed up to watch the second string of Geta come from a goal down to secure a draw. Fan-made videos of the goals below:
This result sees Lega stay top of Segunda B with 13 points - this being their first draw after four wins - while Geta B are second with eleven, pending today's matches, of course, which could see Celta Vigo B and Babajoz overtake them.

Uche, We Hardly Knew Ye
Ikechukwu Uche has left Getafe for Real Zaragoza in a deal worth around €5m.
Although Ike did not start every game, he was highly rated by both the coaching staff and the management at the Coliseum, Angel Torres being a particular admirer of his.
But now that he's moved on - and not for a massive fee - we have lost a great talent.
Uche arrived from Recreativo in 2007 after four years in Andalusia, having been in Spain since he was a teenager.
Although he never really replicated his old goalscoring form at Geta, he had a habit of netting at just the right time. He scored the infamous 'celebration' goal against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, and also struck against Osasuna under Michel at the end of last season in the game that gave fans faith in our survival.
I wish Uche the absolute best of luck at the Romareda!

Dive Or No Dive?
You be the judge:
Actually, no, I'll be the judge. What a disgraceful piece of play-acting from Gorka Brit!
Had Pato stayed on the pitch, who knows what the outcome might have been?
Still, we know what it was: 2-0 to Numancia, and that's a third straight defeat for us.
Nonetheless the first half of the season has drawn to a close with us fully six points clear of the dropzone. I for one would have accepted that if offered it at the start of the season.
As for the B team, they're in an even worse state: four consecutive losses has put them down to 15th.

Victory Redux
Since last we met - and I really do need to do something about this - it's been quite a run for El Geta.
First came the stunning 3-1 win over a beleaguered Real Madrid side:
Followed by a three-goal lead at Villarreal that, while followed up by our conceding three, still produced a credible draw:
And then last night was the 4-1 victory over Mallorca (video forthcoming.)
All told Geta are now 9th with four games to go until the halfway point, and one until the winter break.
The outstanding games before the halfway point are:
Osasuna (A)
Deportivo (H)
Numancia (A)
Racing (H)
With absolutely no disrespect to the teams involved this is a decent enough "run-in", and having taken five points from a possible nine against three of the biggest teams, and then thumped Mallorca, we have every reason to be confident.
Down in the Tercera with the B team, things aren't quite so good, yet Getafe B remain six points clear of the dropzone despite the heavy defeat to Alcobendas at the weekend.
AUPA GETA!

Getafe 0-0 Real Betis
How the game ended 0-0 is a mystery due to the wealth of chances at both ends. The Béticos had by far the best of the first period but Getafe came back strongly in the second half.
Highlights:
In any case, the lack of goals from the strikers is beginning to cause concern, but there were a few bright spots. Joffre Guerrón is starting to find his feet - let's hope he finds a final ball - while the defence was reasonably solid in the second half. Jacobo, too, had an excellent debut. Granero, sadly, could be out for a couple of weeks with a knock.
Geta are thus one of five teams on four points, two behind leaders Espanyol, to whom they travel next week for Jornada 3.
Also, Getafe B managed a 2-0 win over San Sebastián de los Reyes to remain undefeated in their Tercera campaign. Javi Robledo struck twice in the second half to seal the home victory, which sees Geta third, equal on points with leaders Fuenlabrada, Alcobendas, and Rayo Majadahonda. Next up is the short trip up the road to face Atlético Madrid C.

Getafe B Draw At Fuenlabrada
Following up last week's 1-0 home win over newly-promoted Colonia Ofigevi - another club from the city of Getafe (I think that their stadium is here) - Geta B pulled off a draw at Fuenlabrada (their ground is here, I think.)
Indeed, they might have won but for a last-minute equaliser that set the scores at 2-2 at La Aldehuela.
Considering that Fuenlabrada were a Segunda B side last season this is a credible result away from home, and one that puts the Azulones in good stead for a crack at the 2B playoffs this year.
